Supporting the Friends of Jesmond Dene is a wonderful way to contribute to the preservation and enhancement of this cherished green space. Your generous gift helps fund essential conservation projects, community events, and educational programs that ensure Jesmond Dene remains a vibrant and welcoming environment for all. Every donation, no matter the size, directly impacts the park’s upkeep and the success of its initiatives, allowing you to play a vital role in maintaining the beauty and ecological health of this beloved parkland.
Friends receive newsletters twice a year with updates on local matters and full details of upcoming talks and activities. Members are also invited to support events and/or join the Friends’ Committee. Volunteering in this way helps keep the Committee dynamic and ensures our events remain viable and safe.
We welcome your ideas for discussion at our next Committee meeting — please email them to friends.of.jesmond.dene@gmail.com. Your suggestions play a vital role in helping us make the best use of the time and expertise shared by our guest speakers and contributors.
Jesmond Dene is now cared for by Newcastle City Council, who continue the vital work of maintaining and protecting this special green space. The Dene also relies on volunteers to help with repairs, conservation, and preservation throughout the year. If you’d like to get involved, please follow the link below to find out how you can help.
Friends receive twice-yearly newsletters covering matters of local interest and giving full details of the talks and other activities arranged for members. For those now living away from Tyneside we try to keep them in touch with efforts to preserve the Dene in good shape until they can come back in person to visit it once again.
Membership fees are kept low and help to support our work in preserving the Dene’s integrity. They are currently minimum £5 per year, per household, paid through annual standing order.
To join the Friends, fill in the form or email us at friends.of.jesmond.dene@gmail.com and we will respond to you with the next steps.
